Hi,
I just did a pacman -Syu update, and got the new firefox 5 beta. I was excited to try it out, but it just keep crashing. I got no error or anything, just boom, back to desktop. And it happends at so random situations so I can't pin-point what makes it crash. Is there a way to revert it back to firefox 4?

care to run it in gdb and trace that?
gdb /usr/lib/firefox-5.0/firefox-bin
make it crash
bt full
Give what you have. To someone, it may be better than you dare to think.

Hi, when I try that I just get the response "No stack". However, it hasn't crashed for me now for a couple of minutes
EDIT: Scrach that last part, it just crashed. I ran bt full in gdm and still got 'No stack.'. It seems when I click on a link (I was browsing in this thread: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=50392) it crashes. I can see if I can find out what link it was.
EDIT2: It's no particular link, but when I click on a picture then go back, firefox just stops.

Please open threads in the correct sub-forum.
Firefox 5 is still in [testing]
Moving....
There's no such thing as a stupid question, but there sure are a lot of inquisitive idiots !

Firefox5 seems to be in extra now. Anyway, after an update I am getting the same problem. It segfaults when opening almost any website, such as gmail. Chromium has the same problem. Below is a trace of the crash, any ideas? System is up to date, I have tried a new Firefox profile. Happens in both KDE and XFCE under multiple user accounts.

Everything's perfectly fine here. Did you try to run firefox after moving ~/.mozilla with a fresh profile? That's the first thing I do when programs cause problems.

Yeah, tried that... moved ~/.mozilla and it still crashes.

Fixed my problem by reinstalling google-talkplugin from the AUR, hope this helps someone else.
