I would be grateful for any advice on how to do this. I have tried to find documentation, googled, and done some experiments without success.
I want to add Fn+F10 to toggle the webcam on the EeePC901. I have run the script manually, and it works fine. I have tried adding KEY_Fn_F10="00000016" to /etc/acpi/eeepc/models/acpi-eeepc-901-events.conf, then turning on "KEY_SHOW=1" in /etc/conf.d/acpi-eeepc-generic.conf, but I don't get an event notification when I press Fn+F10. I have no idea where to go from here. There does not seem to be a step-by-step gide anywhere for idiots like me!
Many thanks in advance.

xbindkeys. Create a keybinding for the script in xbindkeys and then simply hit that keystroke to enable/disable the webcam
There's no such thing as a stupid question, but there sure are a lot of inquisitive idiots !

Thanks for your help, Inxsible. For consistency, I was hoping to do this from within the acpi-eeepc-generic.conf framework, but maybe that's not an option. In any case, this solution is very elegant, so I'll give it a go.
