Hello guys, here is the deal, i am a total noob when it comes to WM such as subtle, pekwm etc. There is definetely some level of complication i sometimes don't understand but what's more frustrating is that when new software comes out and the documentation is older... things are different and they lead to nowhere when the new user tries these things for the frist time. For instance when i installed arch linux some of the thing on the wiki didn't work exactly the way that are supposed to so i watched a few videos on youtube for the installation and they were kinda different (for instance user creation)...
So to sum up, here is my problem, i want to install subtle WM and configure it, but i don't even seem to find it's configuration files and every other thing. I know the documentation is good enough but... i am having trouble understaning it quite well since not everything works like it's supposed to. Can one friend please make a guide for subtle or at least PekWM so i can be helped a little bit at least?

Start here: http://subforge.org/projects/subtle/wiki
Read well, try as much things out as possible, and then come back if you still have questions. The Subtle wiki is very extensive, and there also is a general thread about it here on the forums which is also frequented by the developer.

To find files on your system:
$ sudo updatedb // only needed for new files, this is done automatically on a daily basis
$ locate <filename>
Or if you want to know where a certain package has installed it's files:
$ pacman -Ql <packagename>

okay, now i can't reach subtle i followed the procedure and i can't login, it logins for a second and then it kicks me out. :S

If it kicks you out, there is probably an error message somewhere. Check the TTY from where you started Subtle (possible TTY1).

I don't understand its philosophy yet. I know that PekWM has several files (7 ?) that are all in the same directory and each of them does different stuff. But how subtle works? I can't understand a thing from the website it's too geeky for me

Try scrotwm, it's in the community server's directory (I think). Might be easier to use than subtle...? If you get on with scrotwm then re-try the other wm's you'd like to use. These wm's have a very steep learning curve and that's why I chose scrotwm, it's easier to use and learn on *imo at least*.

i'll give it a try@MoonSwan.
