acpi events

I need some help please people.

I've got acpi & pm-utils installed on my HP nx6110. Hibernate (suspend to disk) and Suspend (suspend to ram) works 100% from cli.

Here is what I want to make happen.

1. Power button to turn machine off/power down (button/power PWRF 00000080)

2. fn+f3 (sleep icon on keyboard) to hibernate (suspend to disk)
Pressing fn+f3 gives me no acpi event whatsoever so I dunno how to map this key? How do I figure out what this key/combo is?
    EDIT: xev= 150 XF86Sleep, keycode=142

3. LCD lid button to invoke lcd backlight powerdown for 3min and if the lid is still closed after 3min then lock x/screen & suspend (suspend to ram) (button/lid C1E9 00000080)

Could someone please help me with this config as I'm kinda lost.

Re: acpi events

1) acpid
2) xbindkeys, so long as your Fn key returns a keycode in xev
3) custom script

Re: acpi events

Inxsible,

Thanks, the acpid I have running. I got a keycode in xev & keycode. The bindings I should be able to figure out as it looks simple enough on the wiki.

The custom script is where I will need help as I'm useless at this sort of thing.

EDIT: Ok, got 1&2 working. 3 I need help with.
