need (key)words: set up "proxy" to "route" everything through server?

Hi!

What I want to do:
Route all traffic through a distant server I set up myself.

What I need:
Search terms to find the right manuals.

So...:
Guess thats a SOCK-Something proxy?
I need to install a proxy server on my server?
And set it as... gateway? No... Do I need a proxy client on my client?
Not just TCP and UDP... all that "traffic connection stuff".
Argh... routing? reroute? Is this a proxy tunnel?
Guess you see what my problem is wink

Someone please point me to where I can read about that stuff! big_smile
Also the names of a relatively simple / easy proxy software would be great. Something to try the learning-by-doing-approach.

Thanks!

OpenVPN can do that.

Thx!

Anything else I should read so I don't make an awful mess?
