I installed VB a long time ago before the arch package was very mature, and so have been updating it manually (without pacman).
Version 4.1 installs fine and launches, however the virtual machine won't start because of usb 2.0, which requires that I update the extension pack to version 4.1 also.
When I try to do that I get the following error:
"Failed to install the Extension Pack /home/djg/Downloads/Oracle_VM_VirtualBox_Extension_Pack-4.1.0-73009.vbox-extpack.
The installer failed with exit code 127: Error creating textual authentication agent: Error opening current controlling terminal for the process (`/dev/tty'): No such device or address."
Is there a known or preferred way around this?
===> turns out that using the AUR pkg is not required...I started VB as root and did the update that way. It propagates, and starting subsequently under the user acct will show the upgrade.
