Wireless Connections disconnect using WICD, is this just wicd?

Have 2 laptops.  1 is using Intel 6300 Ultimate-N, the other Intel 4965 Wireless-N.  Use WICD because I've never had good success with networkmanager being reliable and I am unwilling to do without a gui for wireless management.  I know there are no hardware issues as network is solid in both Debian Wheezy and Win7.  But every 10-15 minutes, wicd disconnects from the network, then reconnects after about 30 seconds.  Has just recently popped up, for the longest time I had no issues.  Before I go futzing around and replacing wicd with network manager I figured I'd post to see if anyone knew if this was an issue with wicd, or a deeper issue with Arch's networking.

Latest 3.0.whatever kernel, all updates.  No networks configured whatsoever in my rc.conf, and I have !network in my daemons configuration line in order to use wicd.

This isn't really a GIGANTIC issue since these are just basic laptops that aren't used very heavily for anything other than usually surfing, but still annoying.

Don't know if it's relevant, but if I establish a dail-up connection to my aircard via kppp I have absolutely no issues with disconnecting and it will stay connected without issue.
