I'm doing regular backup on a trusted machine in the Internet (well, I mean not in LAN). On this end I pay by traffic size, so I'm interested in lowering transfer protocol overhead, even in cost of speed. On both ends there are Linux machines (Arch and Debian Squeeze), so there aren't any compatibility issues.
I've used SSHFS for a while, but curious about NFSv4. How it can be compared with SSHFS in terms of transfer overhead?
