[SOLVED] Wireless configuration overnight doesn't work any more....

Hi,

I don't like to start a post sayin "my wireless was working and I woke up and it doesn't work anymore"

but it seems to be so... I've been trying to find the problem and I run out of ideas, I don't have freaking idea what could screw the configuration up and where.
Right before the wireless stoped working i was playing around with pm-hibernate/suspend and I wanted to costumized the power management of the laptop....

Some info:

NetBook Asus EEE PC 1015, wireless interface Broadcom [14e4:4727] BCM4313

Linux bradomyn 3.0-ARCH #1 SMP PREEMPT Tue Aug 30 07:32:23 UTC 2011 i686 Intel(R) Atom(TM) CPU N455 @ 1.66GHz GenuineIntel GNU/Linux

Wireless encryption WPA-TKIP in the router, alternative for testing no encryption.

The wireless driver and configuration

Since is the 4313 I have installed the wl driver from the AUR

I didn't have to blacklist any other driver since they weren't there:

blacklist b43
blacklist ssb

Then I followed Manual Setup and it worked out.
Then set some profiles for netcnf and it worked as well.

After a couple of weeks, as I said, overnight the wireless configuration was not working anymore. Don't ask me, I have no clue what I did or what happened.

Let's start with the rc.conf, I post the important info:

I'm using now netcfg v2.5.5, I was using v2.8 and I downgraded... worth trying. So the outputs below are generated by netcfg v2.5 and wpa_supplicant v0.7.3

I have some smattering of wireless but I should keep reading and figure out what is going on... if someone could point out where my problem lies and how i can fix it... well I'd be really grateful

How do you recover?

Your description is similar to an experience I had with a Dlink router. Rebooting the router fixed my problem. Your problem does not look like the router though

I have no idea what I'm talking about, but if it happened overnight (and I believe that's possible), it is probably your router/whatever which upgraded itself.
That would explain why it happened while you were away.
And maybe it just needs a reboot as Ewaller said.

Thank you for the replies,

unfortunately it's not the router. I usually switch on/off the router if I'm not at home. Therefore I have ruled out from the very beginning the router. And I'd rule out an upgrade of arch's packages as well. I installed->upgraded all packages after a fresh installation of arch, and then I started the configuration...

Hi,

I found the problem, but not solved, somehow! I remove everything wireless related and started from scratch. Apparently the wl driver was working and overnight not anymore. The point is that I rmmod and insmod the driver several times and I didn't get any sign that led me think that the driver was the problem... so solved and the informatin above can be used as example of configuration...
