You can vote for your own packages now?

I've recently noticed that I am now allowed to vote for my own AUR packages.

Is this an intentional change, or just a weird bug?

Could it be considered "bad form" if I vote for my own packages?

You've been able to do that for as long as I remember... And it's hardly likely to skew the results much....

If you take all the work and adopt or create an AUR package, you have undoubtfully given something to the community in advance without asking for anything. Since it's not about prestige, but about sharing, I don't see why you shouldn't vote for your own package. It's not like we treat our AUR contributers like heroes, on the contrairy, I see a lot of demanding and more or less unfriendly comments, no matter how much hard work is in the package.

It is also worth a thought, that a lot of AUR packages are not meant to be included in the main repos, because they are patched beyond recognition or do not comply with the Arch packaging rules in any other form. A maintainer can test his own sanity by not voting for such packages :-D

That's strange... I've never had the "vote" button show up in my own packages, until today...

Oh well. I'm going to give a vote to each of my own packages now, then.

I mean, I made/adopted them 'cause I like the software in question, after all!
