Re: wlan/networkmanager thinkpad x220

Welcome to the forums, marcels.
Just some general advice - please include listings in [ code ] tags (without the interfering spaces). They will be better readable then.
To find out more about available BBCodes just follow the "BBCode" link below the edit window.

To know or not to know ...
... the questions remain forever.

Re: wlan/networkmanager thinkpad x220

Post the output of lscpi -nn os we'll know which wireless card you have. In code tags, as bernarcher instructed. Also post the output of dmesg, again in code tags. And finally, try some other manager, like wicd or, my favorite, netcfg.

you see, i get a timeout during the 4-way-handshake (reason 15)... but i have not idea how i can fix this... maybe load another driver? thank you smile

Re: wlan/networkmanager thinkpad x220

You didn't provide the entire dmesg output, so we don't know if the firmware loaded properly. Check for that. Beyond that, try other managers (wicd or netcfg), like I suggested. If the firmware loaded properly and other managers don't work either, I have just one idea: Try the compat-wireless package from AUR. Also, another idea: Check with "rfkill list" whether the radios are potentially killed, and unkill them if they are.

Re: wlan/networkmanager thinkpad x220

What is the security protocol being used by your router?  If it is wpa/wpa2, have you tried connecting to it with wpa_supplicant?

I laugh, yet the joke is on me

Re: wlan/networkmanager thinkpad x220

hi, yesterday i tried it with wicd and it doesn't work too. the driver for the wireless card (iwlagn) was loaded. after rebooting my rooter it works, but i don't know why. i reinstall the networkmanager and now i works fine with these too. thank you for helping so quick smile
