Wireless connection causing crashes

After many breakages during a 4GB update (haven't touched my computer since the end of March) I decided to do a clean install. Everything is back to how it was except my computer crashes randomly, kernel panics when it shuts down and netcfg hangs when trying to bring down a profile (but only sometimes)

I simply have no idea where to start looking for a solution; google brings no results and my computer worked just fine back before any updates.

It's a total system crash (mpd messes up, X hangs, no ssh) so the logs don't seem to show anything unusual. This is the message I get when shutting down.

Re: Wireless connection causing crashes

This looks like the same issue that I have (https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=124989) and there's a bunch of posts on the forums (search for rt2x00) which look to be similar.

Sadly, I haven't found a solution yet but worth noting that it happens on my "up to date" system as well as when I try a fresh install.

Re: Wireless connection causing crashes

I've the same issue: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=126548

Again, related to the use of the rt2x00 module set, but for me only with the 3.0 kernel...
