EDIT: silly me! Confused bits and bites! Got new problems though with a newly bought switch. Opening another thread for that one ...
Hello everyone
My setup is the following:
* Arch Desktop connected to wired network.
* Debian (testing) Laptop connected to the same network within the same segment
* They are connected via a hub
Issue: When I'm transferring data via ssh/scp/rsync the speed is only up to 1Mb/s.
Arch machine:
# ethtool eth0
Settings for eth0:
Supported ports: [ TP MII ]
Supported link modes: 10baseT/Half 10baseT/Full
100baseT/Half 100baseT/Full

Hub: etherperfect 505st (pdf)
So it should support 10M ...
ssh via wlan (passing by the router): Gives me more or less the same connection speed as via hub.
So my thinking right now is that maybe it's because its a hub and not a switch? Then again I don't know nuts about networking ... So before just buying and trying I thought I could ask
Thanks in advance!
