I have been following the development of Lubuntu for the sake of LXDE.

In Distrowatch all distro hits are dropping since last two months except Lubuntu which soon will be among 10. In September when 10.10 is released may become among 5. Could it be the popularity is not "Lubuntu" but the LXDE?

I use lubuntu live on my flashdrive for my work PC. I think it's not too bad, I use it because it's not too bloated and much faster and lighter than most other common distros.

Have you seen their site http://lubuntu.net/? A bunch of video guides - that sure helps to boost popularity.

That's for sure when showing different applications and how to use them. Not related to a distro but what Linux can offer.

That could possibly attract casual users who until they saw the video thought that linux was only for computer hackers and computer programmers. Its a good strategy.
There's no such thing as a stupid question, but there sure are a lot of inquisitive idiots !

Exactly. You don't have much to read there, they're showing it all in a video, step by step.
That site is different from most distros' websites.
