Requirements:
* Light (not dark, dark themes are really bad with some apps, including firefox's "awesome bar", gnome keyboard layout indicator, etc. And light themes are more comfortable for eyes).
* Menus should be light too! Some themes are doing them dark while everything else is light (e.g., Ubuntu's Ambiance).
* Good contrast (don't like blurry elements, eyes get tired on those).
* Not a brown, orange, or some other pesky color (thank you, Ubuntu, for being so popular and so brown!).
* ... of course, nice, polished, professional look.
I've tried to find something matching by myself, but I've failed.
So, I'm looking for help.
If you're going to answer, please include a screenshot and a link to the theme.
Also, a matching metacity theme and icon set would be also great.
EDIT: Solution is here: [link].

Equinox: http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php/ … ent=121881
dcc24 had a very nice, professional theme going on there, https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=84840&p=2 (fifth post from the bottom)
Might want to check that out.

Use the one from bzr, it has cool scrollbars.

Thanks for replies! I'm going to try them when I'll be at home.
It would be nice to see even more options, though.

I was going to suggest my theme from that thread, but you beat me to it
Seriously OP, that Equinox theme meets all of your criteria and it looks quite professional. Give it a try

Yeah, Equinox looks really cool (based on what can I see on screenshots). I'll definitely give it a try.

For speed and clean lines, you really can't go wrong with the Rezlooks or Clean engines. I always falls back to my own themes, Rezlooks-Silver and Rezlooks-Humanist:

Yup Equinox is awesome. There are even packages in the AUR for it.

I have deleted the image from your post. You can update the same post and use a thumbnail size.
There's no such thing as a stupid question, but there sure are a lot of inquisitive idiots !

Sorry, I updated my post, but seems like you were editing it in the same time ... so my thumbnail did not last ...
/LATER: fixed again.

After reading this thread, I went through my own themes (removing several of them) then ended up on GNOME-Look to see if I could find something new for myself (I've been using TechniX for a while). I came across MurrinaPolymer. It's clean and has nice contrast without being boringly flat. So far I like it, although I might try to dim it a little.

I've been stuck on Naos for quite a while now... It might just be not enough contrast for your taste, though. Otherwise it's surely made with a lot of love
There's a matching Openbox theme, too.

I use the classic stock Mist theme. I find it to be great and simple enough, as I do not want a slow engine nor an uber-ugly system. I find Mist to be a good balance between them. Also, IMHO, emacs look best with the Mist theme, as I do not use the Vim GUI, only the Vim CLI.
I'm also known as zmv on IRC.

I'm using the "metal theme" http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php/ … tent=85185 in some of my machines, and I'm liking it very much.
For Icons, I've used oxygen, humanity, elementary, among others... It really depends on the day

I was going to recommend this too, but I thought I'd be mocked by all the guys using fancy-pants futuristic themes. I find Mist to be the most unobtrusive and clean gtk theme out there. Also, because of its simplicity nothing ever renders out of place or looks wonky.
