Help with KDE clock/time issue

Ok first of all hi, as i'm new to these forums.

I have the latest version of arch linux installed... all updated, and I use KDE as my desktop environment. Everything had been going great until I kept getting problems with the time.

Basically if I open Adjust date and time by right clicking on the clock, when I try to adjust the time to London i click apply, it prompts me for a password- then I type in my root password. Then it sets itself back to Guernsey! I have selected set date and time automatically and the time server is pool.ntp.org.

I do not have NTPD or OPENNTPD installed if that helps any.

Also I get the error "Unable to contact time server: ." if I uncheck set date and time automatically and recheck it then click apply.
