[SOLVED] Indexes option in apache doesn't show directory contents

I am trying to list directory contents of my apache web server when browsing to http://localhost, but all I see is a blank page. The Indexes option is set on the folder /srv/http, so I should be seeing a directory index, but no dice, only a white webpage. The /var/log/httpd/errors.log doesn't show anything. Anyone got an idea what could be wrong?

@awebb: thanks, it was permissions.
@fukawi2: you are right, I'll be a little smarter about posting more helpful info next time.
