I upgraded a few days ago all my packages with pacman -Syu. I upgraded for the first time to LibreOffice 4. Ever since, when I run it it crashes giving me this message:
terminate called after throwing an instance of 'com::sun::star::uno::RuntimeException'
I read some similar topics here that helped other people with the same problem, but none has worked for me. I deleted:
~/.config/.libreoffice
~/.config/libreoffice (I think this existed as well)
I uninstalled the only one extension that I had installed from AUR, then I rebooted, but STILL the same problem. Can anyone help me? LibreOffice is a major program for my job. Thanks...

I had the same problem.
After looking in /var/lib/pacman/local I found several other libreoffice-extension not listed as being from aur.
Uninstalling them solved the problem.

Today this happened to me, too. I'm running Arch x86_64.
Here's the output of libreoffice --backtrace:

I just downgraded to 4.0.1-2 via
# pacman -U /var/cache/pacman/pkg/libreoffice-*-4.0.1-2-*
and it works again! Some change between 4.0.1-2 and 4.0.1-5 must have broken the package.
Btw I had to downgrade icu to version 50 as well.

This related thread is [solved]. Remove this package:
libreoffice-extension-numbertext
and try again. Had the same problem, solution worked for me.
Offline
But I don't have this package installed!
Offline
Nor do I, it must be caused by something else.
Offline
Well, in a more general way, the solution was to remove any extension that was outdated, such as those installed from AUR or locally. Compare
pacman -Qs libreoffice-extension
with packages from the official repositories. Then, trial and error. It just happened that for three of us, numbertext was the one.
Offline
all of my libreoffice-extension packages are from extra, so once again: it's not about outdated or buggy extensions...
Offline
Same here, I have no extensions installed at all.
Offline
all of you who are affected by this bug: please vote for it in flyspray, because nothing's happened there so far!

I have 4.0.1-5 and I have no issues using it. Is there a specific scenario in which it crashes ?
There's no such thing as a stupid question, but there sure are a lot of inquisitive idiots !
Offline
It always crashes on startup, ever since I upgraded to LibreOffice 4.0.1-5.
Offline
Other libreoffice 4 problems were found to be caused by libreoffice-gnome.
While those problems had different symptoms, it seems worth to check that.
helix, if you have libreoffice-gnome installed try removing it to see if that solves the problem.

Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.
clean chroot building not flexible enough ?
Try clean chroot manager by graysky

I removed libreoffice-gnome days before and it didn't solve the problem. I also removed libreoffice-kde4 and the problem insists (later I installed this package again). Any suggestion?

I upgraded a few minutes ago to LibreOffice 4.0.2-1, and now it doesn't crash on startup. Problem solved for me.

In that case, I agree it's obviously a different issue.

Hi
for me that problem still exists, I have libreoffice 4.0.2.3 installed.
Offline
I have a crash at startup with Libreoffice 4.0.3.3. Persistantly.
PS: the shell gives me an error 139, so it looks (to me) like a segmentation fault.

Mine crashes as well 4.0.3.3 as I recall.
Was using it all day with no problems.
Did an install and package updates:
Installed a new menu system on my Openbox, then did a full system upgrade.

Now it just shows the libreoffice splash screen for a second, then crashes.
(FWIW: same version of LO Still works fine in another distro.)

Yeah, same here. I've got several package versions of 4.0.1 and 4.0.2 in /var/cache/pacman/pkg/. 4.0.2-4 and 4.0.1-5 fail also, actually 4.0.1-5 raises an error about libpng, while 4.0.2-4 and current fail silently. Also tried deleting ~/.config/libreoffice, no difference. I do not have libreoffice-extension-* installed.
Offline
Turns out that the icu upgrade is causing the problem - at least for me
In the meantime, downgrading icu gives me LibreOffice back.
Take care
