[SOLVED] WiFi connection breaks after hibernate on laptop

For about two or three weeks I have a major issue. Every time I close the lid of my laptop (Framework Model 13, https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Framework_Laptop_13), there is no wifi connection anymore. `nmcli device wifi` still displays that it's connected to the access point, but not even a ping goes through. The problem occured after a large system update after a holiday.

I wasn't sure what to do, so my first hunch was that NetworkManager was the culprit, so I deactivated it via `systemctl stop NetworkManager` and tried establishing a network connection manually using `iw`. However, while I was able to establish a connection to the access point, no ping or anything came through. There was just a long loading time. Bringing up the NetworkManager service didn't work either. At that point, I was at a loss because I don't even know how to debug something like that. I checked online for similar problems and while I found a lot, many of them seem to be vendor specific and their solutions are not applicable to my system.

Please keep in mind that this problem wasn't a thing when I got this laptop, I had it since the beginning of april. WiFi was absolutely no problem then after a hibernation period.

Interesting, I found the thread, but I didn't know that it was related to my problem since the description states that the laptop can't connect at all, not just after a hibernate.

But since this is a kernel issue, I'm just going to wait and hope it's going to be fixed soon. It doesn't interrupt my workflow that much so it's not a big deal, it's just a bit annoying. Thanks!

I think that’s a red herring - I get alerts like that periodically on two of my laptops which have fully functional wifi. I reserve the right to be wrong
