I installed Arch this morning. (Best distro Ive ever used BTW... SO FAST!!!)

It has xfce running

I tried to set up wireless, several ways, and I dont know whats going on with it anymore...

Im using a  ralink rt2500

some things I assume will be helpful

[root@j_laptop grabham]# ifconfig

[root@j_laptop grabham]# iwconfig

eth0 no wireless extensions.

wmaster0 no wireless extensions.

wlan0 IEEE 802.11g ESSID:"Grabhams"

SSID is correct, as is WEP key (exept it shouldnt have dashes in it, and the case isnt right, I replaced the charaters with asterics for obvious reasons)

The wired connection is fine, (talking to you off it now)

Re: My wireless is REALLY screwy now!

Got ralink chipset myself, and it tends to disassociate sometimes.
Try

iwlist scan

to check if it can see the net (ofcourse the essid has to be broadcast.)

And try to turn off encryption on the net, and see if it works then.
Also check your dmesg, the driver prints information there (at least mine does.)

Re: My wireless is REALLY screwy now!

I just installed wifi radar, and it works fine ;]  I assume wifi raday just takes over, or controls everything for me and puts it in a nice GUI.

No WPA though... would be a plus to have it...
