Samba

I try to have no password for samba and this is what i get

smbmnt must be installed suid root for direct user mounts (1000,1000)

How do i install smbmnt suid?

Well, I have a couple of questions...

first.  what do you want to have no password...the samba user, a share you are trying to make public....

second.  are you using a standard install or have you made a custom package.

From the looks of the error it looks like you are trying to mount a windows share on a linux box as a standard user.... is this true?

I found the following suggestion for your situation

>If you *really* want this, do

>chown root smbmnt; chmod u+s smbmnt
