Now, httpd won't start. It just says "failed" when trying to /etc/rc.d/httpd (re)start
root /etc/php # apachectl configtest gives me:
httpd: Syntax error on line 119 of /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf: Cannot load /etc/httpd/modules/libphp5.so into server: /etc/httpd/modules/libphp5.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Huh? Why is the php module removed?
Any help?

Can you show us line 119 of your config file?
These are the lines I use to load PHP into my conf:
LoadModule php5_module modules/libphp5.so
Include conf/extra/php5_module.conf

PHP 5.3 was split into several packages. You most likely need to install php-apache to get the module for apache.
Thaks! Had the same problem after upgrading php. With php-apache everything works again.

I had the same problem today, installing php-apache solved it. Thanks!

I love this community
A simple search for "httpd failed" led me here!
And now it's working!
I really shouldn't update my server that often, but i'm afraid everytime I need a tiny application it's best to start a full upgrade in order to have a clean tree so to speak.
