What happened to vi?

Before I had to re-format my HDD with Vista, vi had all the keybindings right and a nice color scheme. Now when I reinstalled Arch, the keybindings for vi are whack i.e. the letter "i" is not insert anymore nor do any letters do what they're supposed to do. Plus the color scheme is gone and editing PKGBUILD's is a drag just looking at white letters; editing any file actually. Please, bring back the old vi I once loved smile

Re: What happened to vi?

pacman -S vim

vi is now ex/vi (an actual vi clone) and what was vi is now essentially vim.

Re: What happened to vi?

Afaik the old vi used the default vim theme.

If you are looking for something different you may want to look here for an overview.
