When we can expect new version of Arch?
Offline
There are no versions. It's rolling release.
EDIT: I changed the reply to be much more polite... sorry.

I guess you mean "snapshot" ? By February-March I guess.

There is no point in a 'new version' other than installer improvements. You'll still install and sync to the most recent packages.

and make sure the line (in GRUB2)
linux /boot/vmlinuz26 root=/dev/sda5
points to the right root partition
(in GRUB "linux" is "kernel")

You get that just after base install?
Yes, it was as usually [net] base install (minus: ppp, rp-pppoe) and few base devel packages (plus: iwlwifi-5000-ucode, wireless-tools, netcfg) - provides to Kernel Panic.
Did you update your system?
Core install (2009.02) happily ended, but pacman -Syu - and the same Kernel Panic
Now I've got x86_64

I still use the Arch CD that i made long long long back to install and then simply update the machine.
But the next time I am gonna try a netinst, just for the heck of it
There's no such thing as a stupid question, but there sure are a lot of inquisitive idiots !

Meh, it don't really matter what snapshot you use. Sure, I mean, using the latest greatest is fine if you want ext4 support (been in there since 2009.02, which I just installed from Friday) or GRUB2 (is that in a snapshot yet?) then go ahead. But I just use whatever CD I find first (theyre all NetInstalls here) and go NetInstall, and it's up-to-date for me.
As for your error, perhaps it is an issue with your hardware configuration?
Meh has new account! This one left behind for history's sake...
