Hi Arch Users
I am trying to connect to a remote HPC. I am a hostel that uses squid+papercut to manage the internet usage. I configured ssh to use corkscrew and it work well when I am in Uni and have to connect through its proxy. However I an unable to connect while in the hostel and the connection says
Proxy could not open connection to ******.org: Forbidden
ssh_exchange_identification: Connection closed by remote host
I am able to connect when using my mobile phone but mobile internet is very slow and is not useful.
Is there any way I can connect to the HPC. I can possibly modify the configuration of squid, if it will not hamper it current working state.
Any suggestions?
J

Is the proxy expecting some kind of authentication?
Does the proxy allow HTTPS connections?

Realized I forgot to close this one. The issue was squid was set to block port 22. I spoke to the IT staff at the hostel to unblock port 22. Once it was done everythign worked fine.
Cheers!
