Postfix and port 25

Hi,

I've installed postifx folowing this : https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Postfix

everithing work well ! But unfortunattely my internet profider block port 25... so I can not send any mail remoutly

Is there any solution to enable port 465 and 587 to run as the same way as port 25?

Thanks in advance

Re: Postfix and port 25

TCP 25 is the accepted standard for sending and receiving mail. If your ISP blocks outbound traffic, then you won't be able to deliver outbound mail to other servers. You can work around this by using their SMTP server as a relayhost (http://www.postfix.org/postconf.5.html#relayhost)

If they are blocking incoming SMTP, then there's nothing you can do to work around that, since all other mail servers in the world are going to expect to be able to connect to you on 25 and you can't tell them otherwise.

EDIT: You can setup 465/587 with SSL/TLS and authentication so you can relay mail from your clients (eg, sending mail from Thunderbird/Evolution etc), but not for receiving mail from other users/servers.
