[Solved] Linux 3.8.8 => 3.9.2 causes XBMC's NFS feature to fail

Hey guys.

Upgrading from Linux 3.8.8 => 3.9.2 cause the "Connect to a NFS share" feature in the XBMC application to fail with the error "RPC Packet not accepted by the server"

Mounting the share via "# mount -t nfs4 192.168.1.100:/home/evan/multimedia multimedia" works fine without a problem.

I'm trying to discover what has changed in the kernel to cause this to suddenly stop working.

I have a thread open on the XBMC forums for this aswell.

I looked through the kernel change logs and saw a few things relating to NFS, but nothing obvious.

This should actually probably be moved to the Pacman & Package Upgrade Issues forum?

This was not fixed in 3.9.3.

I'm still not sure if this is a regression in the kernel, or if there's something else going on that I'm missing.

Here's exactly _where_ the error is raised in the NFS library XBMC uses.

See http://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=964319

In particular, any testing of the attached patch would be welcome.

The attached patch worked here when applied to kernel 3.9.4

Thanks!

Re: [Solved] Linux 3.8.8 => 3.9.2 causes XBMC's NFS feature to fail

Looks like this has been fixed for libnfs upstream.

I've marked the libnfs package as out of date, but for anyone that needs this now, here's a PKGBUILD file smile

Marking as solved.
