How can I ignore conflicts?

I'm trying to install nvidia, but it keeps telling me that xorg-server is conflicting with nvidia-utils, however (If I remember correctly) nvidia relies on xorg-server. I might just be a bug, How do I ignore conflict checking temporally? Is it possible?

I am going to assume you are using testing to get this issue...   If you want to have X stop working, ignore the conflict! smile

Re: How can I ignore conflicts?

By the way, I solved the issue. I reverted back to stable.

I'm not sure if this really "solves" this issue since xorg won't stay in testing forever… hmm

I don't think they'll throw it out there while all nvidia users (or most of them) will conflict with it, making them unable to use X anymore.

Re: How can I ignore conflicts?

joestrange8, next time please give the full error message. You made it sound like there is a file conflict, which shouldn't be between xorg-server and nvidia packages.

The conflict is because xorg 1.5 is not working with the latest nvidia in the repos. See the links given by cju for more details.

Moving from Newbie Corner to [testing] Repo Forum.
