[SOLVED]how to resolve netbios name of other computer?

I have started smbd and nmbd service, but I can not ping othercomputername, however it is weird the other computer(windows) could ping mycomputer name,

could somebody have me some information? I have searched at forum and wiki but no work solution.

Thanks very much! I searched wrongly with netbios not wins.

add “wins” to the “hosts” line in /etc/nsswitch.conf works very well!
