Hi, i've noticed that if i try to add a menu voice to my favourites, under the Plasma default menu, Plasma freezes itself and i have to kill the session. Also the issue with Dolphin's resources items that aren't restored after reopening the file manager, isn't been fixed is it?
I've plasma-desktop 5.2.2-3 and an Intel HD 4000 on my system.

systemsettings crashes for me every time I try to change the key mapping so I can use windows key + left/right arrow to move the windows to the left and/or right side of the screen. I am on 5.2 with the latest NVidia drivers.
Will file a bug report later today, but I am wondering if this is mostly caused by NVidia drivers or not. Anyone experiencing similar issues and use the latest NVidia drivers?

"Stable" is relative anyway... is systemsettings also crashing pretty randomly for everyone? I'm on 5.3 atm (though it actually says 5.2.95...)
It crashes randomly for me too. Last time was when I changed the icon theme.

You have to unlock the desktop
Haha, now I feel dumb...

Same issue with nVidia GTX 570
And more : just closing the window crahes the systemsettings
Any progress ?
I've got systemsettings crash when exiting compositor settings since ~5.1. Nvidia.
I have commented on bug report with stuff gdb spilled, I don't know how to find it on bugs.kde.org though. HDD went stupid, home lost.
Edit. Got it. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=345841

Just updated to kde 5.3 and building dolphin-git no longer works. Can anyone confirm or is it something on my end?

The last version of dolphin-git which we can build is r.4875.06f2cd5 (on gcc4.9 and 5.1, too).

Does anyone else experience ugly flickering in the status bar? This happens mostly when I open large programs like firefox.

Do you mean the panel? Because I have this problem, I think it's it's related to kernel 4.0.1 since it was working fine before that upgrade. There are a couple of post about it, it's not only KDE apparently.

Just to report that I have managed to solve my issue with touchpad kcm. Not only did I have to clean cache, clean /var/tmp/lde-username, but also it seems that something from old .kde4 folder was messing things up.
If you have third-party kwin decorations, like menda or various aurorae themes, delete them, seems there's something about JSON version not being compatible, resulting in systemsettings crashes.

Even worse if you have one of those selected and update... in my case I had an old version of breeze-git which sent me into an endless loop crashes -> "kwin has been unstable recently, want to pick another compositor?" message -> crashes. Took me some time to figure it out.

yes, I think the whole panel is flickering. But mostly noticable in the "status bar" where battery widget and kmix icon is. I am on 3.19.6-1-uksm-ck but with the haswell graphics performance patch introduced in 4.0.
I'll try to build without it and see if this has an influence on the flickering.
EDIT: the patch had no influence. Flickering is still present.

Anyone for the conky disappear/reappear bug? Is it a compositor bug?
https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php … 3#p1522713
This is the setup I use:
background yes
own_window yes
own_window_type dock
own_window_class Conky
own_window_argb_visual yes
own_window_transparent yes
own_window_hints undecorated,below,sticky,skip_taskbar,skip_pager
and so far conky has not disappeared on me yet. I found some information here:
http://askubuntu.com/questions/181663/h … he-desktop
What I did was change own_window_type to dock. Hope this can help.

It seems to have no effect on anything that I can see, but it annoys me that it crasshes after every KDE start. Does anyone have the same issue?

To anyone who uses session management: https://git.reviewboard.kde.org/r/123580/
The patch fixes it for kwin... meaning Apps which are actually restarting on login will be on the correct virtual desktop.

From System Setting disappeared printer menu. I think it is because of qt5 migration. I can start it using
kcmshell5 kcm_printer_manager
How can I make this menu appear in System Settings?

It is there in systemsettings for me, try running kbuildsyscoca5 --noincremental and runing systemsettings again.

anyone has fixed the logout/shutdown/restart from menu issue?

I don't have that problem here, all three working fine.
I'm having a weird issue with kcm_keyboard though:
Cannot load library /usr/lib/qt/plugins/kcm_keyboard.so: (/usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6: version `GLIBCXX_3.4.21' not found (required by /usr/lib/qt/plugins/kcm_keyboard.so))
System is freshly Syu'd , not using testing or kde-unstable. According to pkgfile, kcm_keyboard.so is part of plasma-desktop and libstdc++.so.6 is part of gcc-libs...
Bug? Scratch that, looks like I -Syu'd just before the fixed version was uploaded to the repos.
Also, show desktop makes the panel flash rapidly, as if it's trying to hide it as well.

There's a new bug about the "show desktop" function: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=346837
Workaround: Disable the "window aperture" effect.

Thanks for the link. Pretty weird they now intend to hide the panel when showing desktop, especially when the default panel is set to "always visible".
Does anyone get weird behavior on nvidia's 340xx blob? Like, disabling the compositor (shift+alt+F12) sometimes resizing the icons on the taskbar, or not being able to restore the effects by hitting the shortcut again?
The animations (like the splash screen) also feel kind of laggy, even though it's supposedly using openGL/GLX...

Thanks for the heads up. A more important workaround (actually, a solution to getting the real old behaviour back) is that there's now a Kwin script that enables a shortcut item for "Minimize all windows", which is what the old Show Desktop function used to do. The current Show Desktop function swipes everything out of the way to show the desktop (I assume this is for accessing desktop icons and widgets?), including Conky instances, so I'd rather keep the Minimize behaviour to be able to peek at my Conky info panels.

Is anyone else having problems after updating to 5.3 with their mouse cursor theme? My cursor turns into the default X11 cursor when I hover over a windows titlebar or desktop. As soon as I move the cursor inside a window or a panel it turns back into a breeze themed cursor.
