Fresh install has errors with ldconfig ... bad hardware?

I just installed from a USB to an older salvaged machine (Q6600 processor).  No errors on the install but when I installed lm-sensors, I get ldconfig problems:

I don't know if this is related but I do not have the ability to load any man page either. They are on the disk but I cannot access them, all I get a blank screen with the footer. Any man page. Here is tmux

man tmux
Manual page tmux(1) line ?/? (END) (press h for help or q to quit)

...now I quit...

Re: Fresh install has errors with ldconfig ... bad hardware?

Thank you for those threads. I purged the cache and reinstalled but what caused this? If the packages were corrupt, why did they pass the .sig test?
