Periodically malfunctioning network

Hi Dear Arch Linux Experts,

I am a new Arch Linux user, I recently had enough of Windows with its random updatings and I installed Linux on my computer four weeks ago. I love the new system - it is stable, it boots really fast and I could manage the packages also, so I have almost all the programs which I need. I also installed Gnome as a desktop environment. Howewer, the internet connection does not seem very stable. It is working - I am writing currrently from Linux - but if I try to load some different sites, after a while it just stops working, and the browser displays a network error. I am connected to my Wi-Fi network at home, with WPA2 encryption and I always use Gnome's inbuilt menu to connect the network. I have a very unconfortable but working solution for the problem: I disconnect and reconnect to the network, and then it works for about a minute. I am wondering how I could fix the problem.

Re: Periodically malfunctioning network

Please post the output of:

# iwconfig
lspci -knn|grep -iA2 net
dmesg|egrep 'wl|firmw|dhc'
systemctl list-unit-files|grep enabled

Yes, sorry -- install the wireless_tools package for that (old) command.

Also, for some reason I thought this was a wireless issue so I should have grep'd for "en" rather than "wl"

All I can suggest for the moment is this tip on the ArchWiki:
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Ne … 11.2F8168B

Your card isn't exactly the same but it may be worth a try.

Yes, it is! I want to connect to a Wi-Fi network.

I installed r8168 kernel module instead of r8169, as the wiki article said. Still the same problem.
