slow response when clicking network manager applet

on right top of window, when clicking on the network manager applet icon, the response is very slow, usually over a few minutes I can see a pop up menu.
I remember when I use ArchLinux at first month, the click response is very fast.
How to debug this problem? Any log can I get?

Does notifications daemon works fine?

Try to run

notify-send "hello"

If you doesn't see anything, check xfce4-notifyd installed. If it's installed, try this solution.
