Problems compiling cheops, and running nessusd...

Hi!

1) I've been trying to compile cheops 0.61 and i've no success, i also try extract files from a debian package .deb and install it and no success at all. The package isn't in the repos... Anyone with the same problem?

2) Anyone have success running nessus? I've a updated arch and when i try to run the deamon I get an error:

nessusd: error while loading shared libraries: libssl.so.0.9.7: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

How I get this library?!

Please help smile

1. What compiling error are you getting?

2. Nessus-core needs to be rebuild against the new openssl.  It's already been bug reported. You could get the PKGBUILD from ABS and rebuild it.

Re: Problems compiling cheops, and running nessusd...

I give up!! sad

I'm student and I don't have time at this moment to put this thing working. I'm in exames season.
By the way the error in cheops is:

[root@yotta cheops-0.61]# make
gcc -g -O2 -Wall -DDEFAULT_PATH="/usr/local/share/cheops" -DLIB_PATH="/usr/local/lib/cheops" -I/usr/include/gtk-1.2 -I/usr/include/glib-1.2 -I/usr/lib/glib/include -DHAS_GMODULE -c -o cheops.o cheops.c
cheops.c: In function 'page_dispatch':
cheops.c:742: error: label at end of compound statement
make: *** [cheops.o] Error 1

I also try compiling cheops-ng without success. I hope someone make arch packages for this exelent tools soon... I've never make an arch package, I have to learn first, but like I say, I don't have time now.
Maybe I make the package for nessus-3.0.3, the package in extra is 2.2.7...

This problem is still there for the binary package. Anyone any timeline on getting a fix for this?

I just sumitted a bug report specific about the openssl issue:
http://bugs.archlinux.org/task/5070
perhaps it will speed things up...

Re: Problems compiling cheops, and running nessusd...

wrt to nessus i had similar probs. full upgrade didnt solve.

then nessus latest 2.2.8x (under pacman) was released.
still no joy. the file hadnt migrated across the full range of mirrors after 5 days so was stuck at 2.2.7x and errors like yours.

messed with my list of mirrors in /etc/pacman.d and all updated successfully.

pacman -Qi |grep nessus
nessus-core 2.2.8-1
nessus-libraries 2.2.8-1
nessus-plugins 2.2.8-1
