No soundcard after update.

Hi, after an update it seems there is no soundcard anymore.
Some outputs:

aplay -lL:

null
    Discard all samples (playback) or generate zero samples (capture)
jack
    JACK Audio Connection Kit
default
    Default ALSA Output (currently PulseAudio Sound Server)
aplay: device_list:272: no soundcards found...

alsactl init

alsactl: sysfs_init:48: sysfs path '/sys' is invalid

pulseaudio

Today I also installed opencv, cuda and git cloned a project for darknet yolo .

It seems like the snd_hda_intel module is not being loaded by the kernel for some reason. Or is somehow failing? I'm unsure if this is actually the case but it appears so.

As you can see, the kernel module does not appear to be loaded despite journalctl implying that it has been.

Specifically, this fixed it.

That's the same solution, adding snd_hda_intel.dmic_detect=0 as a kernel parameter .

See https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Ke … le_options for alternative ways to set this option that will work with any bootloader.

Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.
