When I close the lid of my laptop, the bluetooth connection of my headphones automatically disconnects.
I don't know why, I didn't ask for this.
When I re-open the lid, it re-connects.
BUT, it seems to reconnect with another "profile", "mode", or whatever they are called, since (1) I can't see the battery of my headphones on my waybar bluetooth module anymore, and (2) the touch controls of my headphones no longer send key codes to the laptop. Normally they send media key codes, like
[14: wl_keyboard] key: serial: 40716; time: 17049528; key: 171; state: 0 (released)
sym: XF86AudioNext (269025047), utf8: ''which I bound to appropriate playerctl commands.
And (3) the audio quality is worse.
If I disconnect the headphones and reconnect them, it all works again.
How can I have it re-connect to the correct "profile"?

No, he points out that this is pretty much two posts on the same matter, depending on whether
I don't know why, I didn't ask for this.
or

is significant.
If you want to continue this on the base of the latter, first stop whining (I'll tell you that as long as I have to) and then psot some actuable data.
Your system journal coveing the incident would probably be a good start.

I'm not whining seth, I'm configuring my system as I want it and have fun along the way.
The question of this post is: "given that when my lid closes my laptop goes into suspend or whatever, how can I have the bluetooth headphones connect to the correct profile when my lid opens again".

given that when my lid closes my laptop goes into suspend
So you intend to abandon the other thread then?
Because if you disable that beahvior, this thread will turn moot.
And to answer this question, we'll need to see some data on the situation, https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=57855

No, I think I will leave suspend on lid close on.
I thought there was a way to keep wifi on, but either I go into suspend or I don't, and I will go into it then.
But I want to learn, so now I've learnt what is doing what in my system.
I catching the logs.

cat /sys/power/mem_sleepMaybe S1/"standby" is for you.
Why is the 1st journal alone 2.5MB ???
Edit, on a guess:
suspend, wake, have BT wet iself and then post

That's what I did. I guess is so big because it logged from system boot and the wake time of my system is long.
I won't post to 0x0.st because I want to keep control over it and delete it afterwards.
It contains too much information.
I don't have time to go line by line and remove the information I'm not comfortable with.
And yes, I know internet doesn't forget.
That's the compromise I'm comfortable with.

Ok, I'll reboot and send you lighter logs.

I don't know whether the access denied is relevant:

Seth, you are incredible.
I don't understand if it's not "trusted", why it does reconnect at all?
It should not have connected if it is not trusted, not connect with a lower profile.
But anyway, thanks.
I'll copy that information to the Arch Wiki.

If this was the problem and in general, please always remember to mark resolved threads by editing your initial posts subject - so others will know that there's no task left, but maybe a solution to find.
Thanks.
