There is no game can run in gamescope now.

I usually play games via Steam with gamescope, but I can't do it anymore.
No game responses.

I have installed Elden Ring and Silent Hill 2 Remake, they all used to work before.
There is no issue without gamescope.

DE: Plasma 6.2.1
GPU: AMD RX6750XT

same issue here, i'm seeing vkCreateDevice failed, but it only happens with the proprietary driver, no problem with radv

How sure are you?

pacman -Qs vulkan
vulkaninfo --summary

also check terminal logs on whether gamescope dies for some reason. Normal steam or flatpak steam?

I run this game on Steam, do I need to run steam in the terminal?

For example, or you add PROTON_LOG=1 to the launch options which will write the log into your $HOME dir with the appid of whatever it is you're running.

But you might want to check and try whether removing/at least rebuilding the hdr layer patchset would fix this as mentioned before

After disabling "ENABLE_HDR_WSI=1" and "DXVK_HDR=1", it runs without issue.
Does it mean that it is caused by the "vk-hdr-layer-kwin6-git"?

likely, since it's a -git package in the AUR, when was the last time you rebuilt/updated it? You'll generally have to do that "manually" (by reinstalling them) occasionally, especially seeing as KWin had a major 6.2 release a few weeks ago.

The last update was 2024-10-19, I rebuild the package today, but it doesn't help.
Is there any feature in vk-hdr-layer that Plasma 6.2 hasn't implemented yet? I can play games in HDR without it, but MPV player still needs it to play HDR video.

I can't find any way to contact the developer of vk-hdr-layer-kwin6.

The author of the github repo that package builds from wrote a blog  about hdr in plassma in december last year.

You can try using the email addy on that page.
