Arch keeps on lagging

My Arch system keeps lagging and freezing for some reason, and I can't figure out why. It mainly happens when I open Firefox; my whole system becomes slow, and when I try to open htop, I can barely do it. I notice that one core of my CPU is always maxed out. I set the `dom.ipc.processCount.file` value in Firefox's about:config to 4, as mentioned in this article, but I am still facing the same issue. Here is my full system info :- https://0x0.st/XFRd.txt .

Re: Arch keeps on lagging

Try isolating the problem by trying out a different browser, preferably not mozilla-based. If problem persist then it's probably something more basic. Otherwise, you'll have more confirmation that it is indeed firefox related.

Sometimes my Arch does get stuck when I don't use Firefox, but when I watch a video in Firefox, I have to reboot my PC to get everything back to normal.

Firefox is the best browser that one can use on linux because other browsers are horrible as they are chromium based and most of them don't even have an adblock extension because of google's famous manifest V3. Brave's adblock is horrible because it cannot block ads properly on youtube. Ublock origin in firefox is much better on blocking ads than using brave. Don't take it in a negative way but asking people to change their browser is not really a good solution.

Re: Arch keeps on lagging

I'm not asking you to change your browser, I'm just asking you to test other browsers to check if the problem is with firefox or something else.

I suggest reading my post again and perhaps take reading comprehension lessons in your spare time.

EDIT:  Disengaging from this thread in keeping with item #1 on my sig.

Re: Arch keeps on lagging

one core of my CPU is always maxed out

Also by what process?

top -bn1 | curl -F 'file=@-' 0x0.st

Edit: to riff on the F5 injuction, read up https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=57855
Stuff like "its does nots works, is just slow lolz" is completely unfixable.
It is paramount to identify the cause of any symptoms so you can start to address them.

1. Where is the problem
2. What is the problem
3. How can we fix the problem

That order and you cannot skip any step. Welcome to life.

Edit: in case this hast started recently only, see https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=301615 and try to downgrade to mesa 23.7
