A new account on your computer - ie. whether it's something in the local discord config.
*Not* "a new discord account"

No its same o same, one and only account of mine.

Wut?
You're supposed to create a new user, https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Users_ … management and test the discord behavior w/ that to rule out a problem w/ your local ~/.{config,cache}
Offline
You mean this ?:
# mkdir /etc/skel/.config
# cp ~archie/.config/sxhkd /etc/skel/.configOk I will try when I arrive home. By the way what is the logic of new user may not face with same problem ?
Offline
No, I mean https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Users_ … management
Create a new user, log in as that and try to run discord as that user.

I tried with `warp-cli` and config vpn and without VPN in new user. Its downloaded and installed first (even i open from the search bar and it was not using kde like main user) then tried a few times. Still failing.
Offline
I seriously don't know what you're trying to say but from what I understood is that the main problem is that the discord application does not work with or without VPN while the discord web service does work with or without VPN.
So the idea would be to run the discord application from a fresh user account and you do not have to install anything for that.
If you do, you're likely using some flatpak and not https://archlinux.org/packages/extra/x86_64/discord/
In doubt please write the reply in your native tongue and use https://deepl.com/translator to get the English version.

Here's what happened: I logged in with a new user account. I tried using `warp-cli`, and then I tried using a VPN configuration. Discord didn't work with either of them. Then I tried without a VPN, and it still didn't work.
After pressing the Windows key, I searched for `discord` and ran it. Discord’s small “loading” and “updating” box appeared, and the messages “Downloading” and “Installing” showed up there. It wasn’t KDE. The GNOME desktop environment was selected.
Offline
Ah, ja… https://archlinux.org/packages/extra/x86_64/discord/ is just the installer now.
So if it's not your ~/.config and only the discord app - what errors do you actually get (w/o the VPN)?

Be careful. Something doesn’t look right.
Firefox spotted a potentially serious security issue with discord.com. Someone pretending to be the site could try to steal things like credit card info, passwords, or emails.
discord.com has a security policy called HTTP Strict Transport Security (HSTS), which means that Firefox can only connect to it securely. You can’t add an exception to visit this site.

What makes the site look dangerous?Because there’s an issue with the site’s certificate. Sites use certificates issued by a certificate authority to prove they’re really who they say they are. This site’s certificate is self-signed. It wasn’t issued by a recognized certificate authority – so we don’t trust it by default.
What can you do about it?Not much. It’s likely there’s a problem with the site itself.

Strange... There used to be a “I understand the risk, continue” button, but now that's gone too.
Even if it were there (as far as I recall, or based on what I remember from other blocked sites), this time it either says the site can’t be reached or, more often than not, states, “Access to this site has been blocked pursuant to a decision by the BTK under Article X of the law.”
There are no issues accessing the site via VPN in the browser. In the app, however, whether using a VPN or not, it gets stuck on a message that says “Checking for updates” and displays the message “Failed, retrying” after x seconds; then the duration of these seconds increases.
`warp-cli` didn't work in the browser this time. I refreshed the page where the mentioned Firefox error occurred, but it got stuck on the “Loading...” message. That warning usually pops up anyway if it can't connect. It's the same on other blocked sites as well.

It's the DNS, switch to 1.1.1.1 or 8.8.8.8 or 9.9.9.9

Will do. From VPN config or browser or local ?

Either.
https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Domain_name_resolution
From the looks of the ping result your friendly local dictator has your ISP block discord through the ISPs DNS server that resolves discord.com to a host at your ISP.
Your browser works because of https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Domain … -level_DNS (which is also why this kind of censorship is completely ineffective - at least that's what nerds tend to think…)
There's a chance that this isn't a complete clown-show and your ISP intercepts traffic on #53 in which case you'll need sth. like https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/System … S_over_TLS - see the security and privacy section in the DNS article.

I haven't tried DNS over TLS yet. Because even changing the DNS settings didn't let me access a blocked site in the browser. They're enforcing the Discord ban much more strictly. Browser error:
Secure Connection Failed
The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified.
What can you do about it?
The issue is most likely with the website, and there is nothing you can do to resolve it. You can notify the website’s administrator about the problem.

You previously claimed discord would work in the browser?
Was that a lie or did the behavior change - and in response to what?
Do you get that error w/ or w/o a VPN or either?
If you issued those commands literally they're not doing anything - UUID is a placeholder for sure and I also don't know whether con mod allows you to change multiple settings in one line and bringing the connection up might be inert if it already is.
See https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/NetworkManager and stop copypasting LLM suggestions into terminals.

@jojo06: If your ISP enforces a censorship comparable to the "great wall of china" it is extremely important to us to know in what exact state your system is - in every test scenario.
Baseline - test the following scenario: No VPN is active. The file "/etc/resolv.conf" must be created by NetworkManager and must contain the IP address of your router. Open Firefox without any "Firefox VPN" or add-ons. Go to "Settings > Privacy and Security > DNS over HTTPS > Advanced Settings" and activate "Custom > Cloudflare (Default)"
Does discord work inside the browser session?

@-thc We access it via a VPN, and no one has any problems with it. No, it’s not that restricted. You can access it using a browser extension. Some people also access it using a few (Windows) configuration files.
Would you like me to test it specifically the way you mentioned?
Actually, I had already provided clear information about this. You can access it using a browser extension. You can also access it on Windows using Kaspersky, and until recently, you could access it on Linux using the Proton VPN configuration.
But there’s no Windows, Proton VPN isn’t working anymore, and I don’t want to connect through the browser—that’s the situation. When I said “blocked,” I didn’t specify that it was blocked by the government, but I don’t think it makes a difference, does it? Otherwise, why or how would it be blocked?

No, it’s not that restricted.

We access it via a VPN
Requiring a VPN to access a service is about the most effort in censorship you'll face (recursively applies to VPN services as well - if everybody uses VPNs to read that their dictator as a tiny penis, he'll block VPN providers as natural next step)
and no one has any problems with it.
Apparently you do.
I had already provided clear information about this. You can access it using a browser extension.
No and "a browser extension" isn't indicative of "VPN" - though you require one.
It's working with `Free VPN browser extension - Best VPN by uVPN` Firefox extension.

That's not relevant - you need to check your WAN IP w/ a system wide VPN - using "a browser extension" will obviously have zero impact on anything but the browser.
Including the discord app.
You'll have to configure and use an actual, system-wide https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Catego … te_Network for that.
Or use the discord webpage in the browser.

Wow. After weeks/months and nearly 50 posts this feels like a full circle.
jojo06 has used the discord app and proton VPN in the first place and that combo stopped working back in April. Pitching the idea of a VPS instead of a (paid) VPN for circumventing geoblocking jojo06 revived this thread a few weeks ago.
Not until post #47 I grasped the full scope of the problem. Now I know that jojo06 meant "VPN browser extension" all along - that never crossed my mind. The scope of the Turkish censorship of discord was new to me.
@jojo06: You need a full-tunnel VPN (obfuscated: using HTTPS transport) with full DNS leak protection whose servers are not blocked by discord. Sorry - can't help you with that.
