Proton VPN isn’t working anymore
Proton on your computer (is there an error?), proton & discord or proton in turkey, https://www.reddit.com/r/ProtonVPN/comm … in_turkey/ ?
(I assume all of them are talking about https://protonvpn.com/free-vpn while as https://gizmodo.com/best-vpn/unblock-discord-turkey points out the free plans typically don't offer obfuscation)
he worried about real deal law breaking stuff
I doubt so - nobody takes "lagal" whims of criminal dictators all that serious, not even the other criminal dictators.

The Proton VPN I was using was a paid service. So, it connects, but it doesn't even open Discord or other blocked sites.
So are you saying NordVPN will be the solution?
Offline
I'm not saying anything - ask your government which VPNs they block ![]()
So, what is your WAN IP (w/o the browser specific VPN but Proton running) and what does dns leak tests say about your DNS?
Offline
84.252.114.5 Argentina
How to look up dns leak ? Google > dns leak test or a package needed ?
Offline
https://duckduckgo.com/?q=dns+leak+test but mainly check that "dig discord.com" comes back as 162.159.13?.??? because https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php … 0#p2312830 shows it being resolved to your ISP (likely by your ISP's DNS)
Edit: you can also check that "dig @8.8.8.8 discord.com" returns a proper IP - if not, your ISP simply intercepts and manipulates #53 traffic and you'll have to use DoT/DoH (alternatively to using the VPN for DNS)

OMG... I don't know what is happening. I moved to summer house. Which means another modem another ISP. Same PC and same Arch. Neither warp or Proton is working. wanip.org showing the exact and true location of mine. Not Argentina anymore.
And instead IP its showing something like ipv6 or mac address.
Without VPN; `dig @8.8.8.8 discord.com`
;; communications error to 8.8.8.8#53: connection refused
;; communications error to 8.8.8.8#53: connection refused

; <<>> DiG 9.20.30 <<>> @8.8.8.8 discord.com
; (1 server found)
;; global options: +cmd
;; no servers could be reachedLets try this one; DoT/DoH (alternatively to using the VPN for DNS)

https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/System … S_over_TLS but w/o VPN that's not gonna help much either (you'll be able to resolve the correct IP but not reach it)
Offline
But you're saying even that might not be a definitive solution?
I have no working VPN right now.
I'll find a VPN and give it a try. Even if it doesn't solve the problem, I won't have the nerve to bring it up again ![]()
If you have any VPN recommendations and would like to discuss this topic in more depth, please let me know.
Otherwise topic [CLOSED] I guess.

1. we know that at least the browser plugin based VPN works/worked
2. your previous outputs have shown that discord.com was resolved to an IP of your ISP (part of the censorship)
3. your ISP can
a) block traffic to discord.com (a firewall) - this is where you need the VPN
b) provide bogus DNS responses when using their DNS servers (it looks that has happened)
c) manipulate DNS queries (this is where you need secure connection to a DNS that's not controlled by your government, plain DNS is unencrypted)
d) block traffic using a known VPN (you're better off asking other victims of that system and ISP which one those are)
Does your browser + extension currently allow you to access discord.com?
What do you mean by "finding" a DNS? We don't know why the VPN is currently not working, but I suspect it's only configured for IPv4 and you're currently using and IPv6 only connection?

Yes.

VPN. I had a working one. Now I don't have any. Especially for Linux I don't know which one should I get. Kaspersky was good and solid.
(I think, in accordance with the instructions received,) the bank has blocked credit cards for use on the Proton website or has blocked purchases from the Proton website. I can’t purchase a membership, so I called the bank and asked them to add an exception. It wasn’t possible.

They using something called DPI in Windows.
GoodbyeDPI
GoodbyeDPI + Zapret Hybrid
Really funny my browser can't open the links even... Stuck on loading state but I found these repos:
https://www.google.com/url?sa=i&source= … 0929585000
https://www.google.com/url?sa=i&source= … 0929585000
https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source= … jfu58Nl8Ta
Research result about DPI (brave llm):
jojo06: there was smt else than goodbye dpi, another method what was that
...
jojo06: cant I do that dpi myself ? and in linux ?
deepl translate:DPI (Deep Packet Inspection) is a technology that allows your internet service provider (Türk Telekom, Turkcell, etc.) to examine not only the “envelope” (where it’s going) of the packets you send over the network, but also their “contents.”
Normally, when you connect to a website, the destination address is written on your packet.Normally, when you connect to a website, the address you’re connecting to is written on the packet. However, censorship systems that use DPI examine the contents of the packet to determine which website (such as Discord) you’re trying to establish an encrypted connection with (TLS/SNI) or whether you’re sending audio data (UDP), and they immediately terminate the connection. Tools like GoodbyeDPI or Zapret, on the other hand, intentionally fragment these packets, reorder them, or add misleading data. The network's censorship device cannot read or block these modified packets, so you will have bypassed the censorship.
Can You Do It Yourself on Linux?
Yes, you absolutely can. In fact, Linux is the home of these DPI-scaling technologies (especially Zapret) and the place where they work most reliably. On Linux, you can set this up entirely on your own without downloading any third-party interface software, using the system’s built-in network drivers and terminal.
The most effective and professional method for Linux is to use Zapret. Below, you’ll find step-by-step instructions on how to do this on Linux:
Step 1: Install the Required Packages
For Zapret to work, it needs Linux network filtering tools (iptables or nftables) and curl. Depending on your distribution, type the following into the terminal:
For Arch/Manjaro:
sudo pacman -Syu git curl iptables (yes they insistingly dont edit/fix with -S)Step 2:
git clone zabret
sudo ./install_easy.shStep 3: Setup Wizard Settings (Very Important)
After running the `install_easy.sh` command, the terminal will ask you a few questions. To bypass the Discord and YouTube blocks in Turkey, you should make the following selections:
1. Select firewall type: Choose iptables or nftables depending on your system (It usually detects it automatically; you can just press Enter to proceed).
2. Enable HTTP/HTTPS bypass? Select Y (Yes).
3. Mode selection: It will ask if you want to use tpws or nfqws. Select the nfqws option. (Because nfqws directly manipulates packets and is much more effective for Discord voice channels.)
4. Configure WAN interfaces: It will automatically select the network adapter you use to connect to the internet; press Enter to confirm.EXTRA (if sound has a problem):
Step 4: Fine-Tuning for Turkey (Fixing the Discord Audio Issue)
Once the setup is complete, Discord text channels will open, but to connect to voice channels (RTC), we also need to manipulate the UDP packets. To do this, open Zapret’s configuration file:
sudo nano /etc/zapret/config
Use this code with caution.
Inside the file, you will find the lines NFQWS_OPT_DESYNC_HTTP and NFQWS_OPT_DESYNC_HTTPS. To account for current blocks in Turkey, edit these lines as follows (or add them at the very bottom):
text
NFQWS_OPT_DESYNC_HTTPS=“--desync-ttl=4 --desync-split-pos=2”
NFQWS_OPT_DESYNC_UDP="--desync-hop-by-hop"
sudo systemctl restart zapret
sudo systemctl enable zapret
I hope it helps.

https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/zapret2 but I doubt that's the case - DPI on TLS/SSL is implausible and the browser extension based VPN seems still to work.
(I think, in accordance with the instructions received,) the bank has blocked credit cards for use on the Proton website or has blocked purchases from the Proton website.
IOW you don't have a paid proton plan, does setting up the free plan entirely don't work? Are you still at the summer house?
