HP Compaq Presario c700 with intel wifi here... works like a charm, even the webcam.

First generation 13.3" MacBook. Everything works perfectly except for the microphone and camera, neither of which I've tried to get working. Lenovo sometimes discounts the ThinkPad R and T series, in which case those might be slightly better value.

I've got Arch installed and running on a Dell Inspiron 8200. The only problems I've had so far are with the battery and CD-ROM drive but I can't blame those on Arch at all. They were acting up before I even heard of Arch.
Solutions nearly always come from the direction you least expect, which means there's no point trying to look in that direction because it won't be coming from there.

Dell D610 works fine... Wireless included.
Don't use the analogue modem so not sure if it does, but I'm sure it would.

New HP Compaq Presario C700 (C774TU model)
Wireless didnt' work out of the box for Arch or Arch64. Pretty much everything else did although I've never gotten suspend/hibernate to work - even on my desktop.
At the moment I am using ndiswrapper for Arch32 and the svn patched HAL and madwifi drivers for Arch64.

dell vostro 1400
sound works out of the box (including built in speakers and mic - after installing alsa of course)
wifi works (with iwlwifi)
nvidia graphics card works (with nvidia driver)
multimedia keys works (XF86Audio...)
bluetooth works
touchpad works (need some configuration of course)
haven't tested sd card reader or modem yet.
so vostro 1400 works well with arch.

Lenovo Thinkpad T60
Everything works, but a few things to note:
The ATI Radeon Mobility X1400 needs the catalyst driver for proper 3D features (Compiz)
The fingerprint reader works with either thinkfinger or the libfprint
Well maybe not everything... I haven't used the modem.

Toshiba Portege R150
AIGLX seems to be having some troubles, according to my logs.
I haven't gotten my built-in SD card reader to work yet.
Haven't tried PCMCIA and whatever goes into this other weird hole on the side of my laptop...

Sony Vaio VGN-FE48E
Sound - hda intel, works
Wifi - iwl3945, works
Camera, ricoh, works (r5u870)
Nvidia Video Card, works
Suspend/Hibernate works, they didn't on Ubuntu. Wonder why.
Changing brightness doesn't work, though, nor did the SD card reader, though I haven't really tried it much yet. Didn't test PCMCIA yet, either.

Thinkpad x60s,
Everything works (except wifi-led).
Even mic,bluetooth&sd... just 3D stuff could perform better...
Thinking about to switch to the tablet-version though...

Running Arch on a big, fat and old IBM Thinkpad R40 (2272), the one that comes with Pentium M 1.2 ghz, 256 mb RAM and 40 gig drive. I've upgraded it to 768 mb RAM and swapped the broken drive 80 gig 5400 rpm one. It's running like a charm. Bloats such as O.oo Writer opens in mere 7 seconds. Everything feels fast and efficient.

My Dell Latitude D520 works flawlessly, even suspend/hibernate/whatever and the broadcom wifi(since kernel 2.6.24 finally freed me from having to carry an external atheros everywhere).
My hard drive seems to be dying on me though, but I don't think this has anything to do with Arch --'.

Wireless: Intel Wireless 2200BG
Graphics: Intel 915GM

Everything works flawlessly, except Wireless LED, which i not configured yet. Desktop KDE 4.1 with Compiz Effects works smoothly on this older machine

Everything works absolutely perfectly, suspend/resume, wireless, graphics, only thing I've not tested is the card reader, no idea what make, never looked, don't have any cards to read.

Dell Inspiron 1501 (with amd and ati). Everything works, but there are some weird quirks with the ati video card that I still can't figure out.

Most things works perfectly. Couldn't get alsa to work but OSS4 is brilliant. I also have not been able to get the TV tuner to work either.

LG p300 13,3" core duo 7300 2,4ghz, 3gb ram, nvidia 8400, ICH8 chipset.kernel 2.6.27-rc2. Everything works. Nvidia beta drivers 177. This is one great laptop. Havnt tested the HDMI out yet.

Dell Inspiron 1501 here as well. Haven't noticed anything particularly wierd with the ATI stuff like sam has, BUT, I have had an acpi issue since the update to kernel 2.6.26.2. However, acpi worked great in 2.6.25. So, basically, everything seems to work pretty well. I think you can even get dial-up modem drivers via ubuntu/dell. Of course, I don't think Dell sells this model any longer, so I guess this is only useful information for used laptops
You experienced anything with the acpi, sam?

My Acer Aspire 3680 is working perfectly more or less out of the box (what ever that means for Arch)
Wireless, suspend, Xorg, sound work after minimal configuring. It just needs a little more polish like Fn+* hot-keys, spel-check and Suspend from the leave menu in KDE4.
Worth noting is that you need to add
Option "AllowEmptyInput" "false"
under ServerLayout to prevent X from locking up the system beyond SysRq and add
Option "FramebufferCompression" "off"
under Device to stop the screen from "jumping" every few seconds.
The hard disk Load_Cycle_Count problem effects this laptop
