Does netcfg support management of aliased IP addresses?
I have the following config:
fukawi2@platypus ~ $ cat /etc/network.d/LAN
CONNECTION="ethernet"
INTERFACE=eth0:1
IP="static"
IFOPTS="192.168.yyy.xxx netmask 255.255.128.0 broadcast 192.168.255.255"
And it doesn't barf at it:
fukawi2@platypus ~ $ sudo netcfg LAN
> LAN already connected
But it doesn't actually create the alias, only my NET address is on eth0:
fukawi2@platypus ~ $ ifconfig
eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr FE:FD:4B:7F:60:BD
inet addr:75.127.96.189 Bcast:75.127.96.255 Mask:255.255.255.0
