I'm a complete NUB so bear w/ me. I just did a pacman -Syu on an older machine that I've been playing with, and after the upgrade completed, pacman was broken. Every time I try to do anything now it says this:
:: Synchronizing package databases...
error: failed to update core (unexpected error)
error: failed to update extra (unexpected error)
error: failed to update community (unexpected error)
error: failed to synchronize any databases
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
Nalroff

After the upgrade, mirrorlist doesn't probably have any mirrors uncommented. Happens if pacman hasn't been updated since, what, December? http://www.archlinux.org/news/427/

Thanks, Maxa, that thread helped tremendously. I wonder why they did that though? To me, it makes no sense. If someone has a better understanding on the subject, please elaborate.

We want to force users to uncomment the appropriate mirrors for their location instead of just using the first one on the list by default.

Please refrain from using 'FAIL' in your titles.... 99% it's the user that's at fault, not the system. No matter how stupid (or smart) your question is, such titles only make you look stupid.
