[SOLVED]DHCPD time out problem

Hi everyone, I'm having a problem with the network for being exactly dhcpd. Sometimes when I turn on the computer when the network daemon is triying to stablish a conection it show me dhcpd time out fail.

I tried to restart the service using # /etc/rc.d/network restart but it didn't work.

I also tried this http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Network#For_DHCP_IP but it's the same.

Any idea??

PD: this is the order of my daemons at boot. "DAEMONS=(syslog-ng netfs crond hal network @alsa @clamav @cups fam timidity++ gdm)"

Thanks!!!!:)

Re: [SOLVED]DHCPD time out problem

1) 'network' should come before 'netfs' since you can't mount network filesystems until the network is up
2) Have you looked in /var/log/messages.log or /var/log/everything.log to see what messages are logged by the dhcp client?

Re: [SOLVED]DHCPD time out problem

Thanks fukawi2. I didn't know about the network and the netfs thing.... I think that I'm so newbie.

I'm gonna check the logs that you told me. Thanks!!!!

I just wanna say that in fact the problem was daemon order (first network then netfs), I have been using my computer for a couple of days whit this change and everything is working so good smile

Again, thank you fukawi2!!!!
