Limiting skype bandwidth

Hello, i have fast (but with small quota) Internet. I want to limit Skype traffic.
If I'm correct i can do it trough proxy, how (squid?) ?

if you have a metered internet connection, then it wont be helpful to limit it, but if you have a rate-limited internet connection, you can use pyshaper or use tc from the iproute2 package with iptables for limits.

however, if you want to block it, use iptables. either way, squid wont help.

This was one of the posts that I came across while in vain trying to control skype's bandwidth on linux.
