Hello all,
As of late I've been downloading far more than I normally would and am trying to find a method of monitoring my LANs traffic. I have a BT Home Hub 2.0 as my gateway, that connects to a switch which connects to 2 computers and another router acting as a switch itself. I'm planning to build a low spec rig to sit between my gateway and the first switch for monitoring traffic in and out. (I use a computer as a media server for streaming locally so host based monitors would be more complicated, and I'm also toying with the idea of using a firewall on it too for added peace of mind.)
I'm looking for an application that can log traffic volumes in, out, as well as ports used, source destinations, etc... Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Jon
