No network after last update

I fired up my arch today and found out that i was not able to connect to my wirless router... neighter using wired conections. Same happened with other routers/networks. after some experiments downgrading some packages i found the guilty:

[2011-01-30 22:39] upgraded consolekit (0.4.1-4 -> 0.4.3-1)

I just downgraded consolekit to the previous version and everything is back to normal. I am now able to perform wired and wirless conections again. Weird consolekit update. Anyone had the same problem? how can i help fixing it?

I had the same problem...new version of console kit does not play well with network manager and new kernel (console kit was upgraded before kernel, and connections worked fine until kernel update).

I had the same problem but downgrading consolekit didn't help. Now I am trying to revert, if you could post your suggestions here(https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=886366#p886366), I'll be glad:

I did this in the following order:

- Upgraded a bunch of packages, including consolekit and new kernel version;
- /var/log/pacman.log said that consolekit was upgraded before the kernel;
- I downgraded the kernel to the previous version: in /var/cache/pacman/pkg i issued pacman -U kernel26-2.6.36.3-2-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz and pacman -U kernel26-headers-2.6.36.3-2-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz ;
- After i realized the kernel version wasn't the problem alone i downgraded the consolekit: pacman -U consolekit-0.4.1-4-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz ;
- And then, after a reboot everything worked fine. I blacklisted the consolekit package in pacman.conf and upgraded my kernel again so i have everything exept the consolekit package up to date

Downgrading won't fix the real problem. Upgrade your whole system fully . For me networkmanager still works.

How do you launch your WM btw, with gdm or kdm?
