Re: Forums updated to FluxBB 1.4.3

I find "Topics: Posted" to be the most confusing of all the suggestions. That could just mean topics that anybody has posted. Nothing suggests it has anything to do with the individual forum member. I'm coming around to "Topics: Yours" as a bit clunky but the best.

That said, I'm also starting to doubt that it's possible to do this in a clear way with one word. Is it unacceptable to use more than one word? For example:

Topics: With Your Posts | New | Active | Unanswered

or:

Topics: Where You Posted | New | Active | Unanswered

To me that seems very clear and requires no mouse-over explanation. Perhaps sticking to the elegance of one word for each link is putting form over function.

P.S. Thanks again lie2815 for your patience and interest in this dicussion.

Yet another, even shorter suggestion from another FluxBB developer, that - in my eyes - combines the best of both worlds:

Here is my suggestion based on bolded text in title attributes.

Topics: Posted | New | Active | Unanswered

This is in my eyes the best solution. Short 'n sweet and to the point. If it's misleading for someone, it will be only for the first time. Those who need these links are those who linger on the forum anyway, the learning curve should be pretty short.

Re: Forums updated to FluxBB 1.4.3

Why do we have "Mark topics as read" only on the first page of "new posts"? It's totally unnecesarry to not have it and have to go to the index to have the option...

Seems like the problem is ignored for now.

Re: Forums updated to FluxBB 1.4.3

Well, the mark as read link has moved upstream.

It can be found further down on the page, but it will also be displayed on another page (the "new posts" quick search, I believe).

And btw, no need to worry; we are not affected by the security issue because we use cookie encryption anyway.

Re: Forums updated to FluxBB 1.4.3

There is another thread, where the forum has now been updated to 1.4.4

Closing this one as it has outlived its purpose
