Suddenly I've been getting improper shutdowns on my work laptop. I run openbox and logout using the root-menu and then at the prompt enter 'sudy shutdown -h now'. This has happened three times in a row now!
I see all the rc.conf scripts run through their stop routing and then the turquose text "POWER OFF" appears, like normal, then one more "power off" line in grey, which is all normal. Usually after that, the computer shuts down, but lately it's been staying in that condition. I'm usually running out the door and don't watch, but when I come back in the morning there's a debug blob on the screen and the preceding line is something like 'Watchdog detected lockup on Core 0'.
I'm not familiar with tools available to debug things like this or what might be causing the issue. Would anyone offer some suggestions? I'm happy to post output of some kind of log or whatever else.
Many thanks for suggestions -- I'd like to fix asap!

@skunktrader: thanks for the link. It does look like what I'm experiencing (screen shot on comment #13). Do I just wait for a fix? There seems to be no response re. what this is about or what the fix might be?
