[SOLVED] Port seems to be blocked by Arch, fresh install.

Hey guys, my first post here.

I just migrated from ubuntu to a fresh complete arch install. Been trying to set up my ports and torrent connections.

Now, I haven't changed any router settings after installing arch. I've understood that by default all ports in archlinux should be "open".
canyouseeme.org reports my ports as being open, also the built in ports tester in deluge returns with a green light. But there is no way that the ports
can be open, the speed's are terrible. In ubuntu, same amount of seeders I got around 1.5MiB, in arch i get around 50 kb/s.

I've been googling for answers but it just doesn't make sense.

Really love my new arch setup, but I have to be able to torrent :-) So please help!!

also, I've run

sudo nmap -sT 127.0.0.1

Reports back:

6667/tcp open  irc

Should it report deluge also when it is running?

Re: [SOLVED] Port seems to be blocked by Arch, fresh install.

nmap doesn't scan all ports by default, just use `netstat -lnp`.

Arch doesn't have iptables set up by default so it's not a problem with the port being "open" in arch - if deluge is listening on a port then it's open.

There are lots of other reasons you might be getting bad speeds (incorrectly configured /etc/hosts or network, different deluge settings, different deluge/lib versions, etc.).

Try these troubleshooting steps:
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/SS … ed_Problem
Replace ssh with deluge and the ports your interested in. And ignore the hosts.allow part.

Re: [SOLVED] Port seems to be blocked by Arch, fresh install.

I think i found a solution to my problem.

It seems that my router had some kind of mental breakdown when i started using bitlbee daemon on port 6667 because i hadn't forwarded the port to my ip.
I just forwarded the port and my torrent speeds were back to normal. Don't know if this makes sense?

Anyways, thanks for the help :-)
